Dharma in Motion in Rwanda

North of Kigali towards Volcano National Park live the women of Dufatanye ("Helping Each Other") Cooperative. These women had a dream to develop farmland so their children could survive. This community of people living with AIDS formed a cooperative to support each other, and Dufatanye was founded in 2015 by 125 rural Rwandan women, many of whom were infected with the AIDS virus.

There are now 507 people in the cooperative, including their families. They live in the hills in a very remote area of Rwanda’s northern province just an hour south of Rwanda’s famous mountain gorillas in Volcano National Park.
